Join Corianne of Cookie Couture for this hands on workshop where you'll get all of the benefits of a Royal Icing 101, plus a beginner decorating class! Refreshments and snacks are included for this fun afternoon of all things decorating. If you are looking for the perfect place to start or an opportunity to refine your skills, this is it!
Techniques and concepts covered:
- Overview and demo of making Corianne's signature royal icing recipe.
- How to colour royal icing to the perfect shade.
- How to achieve the 3 primary decorating consistencies, perfectly every time - piping for borders, flood for filling and thick for structured pieces.
- How to fill and use tipless piping bags with with and without piping tips.
- How to decorate a 4 piece Winter themed cookie set with step by step demonstrations and guidance.
- How to work with luster dust and edible glitter.
- Overviews on storage, packaging and further troubleshooting for common issues.
Participants will leave with their set of decorated cookies, plus all remaining icing that they can use for further practice. They will also receive a folder with the recipe and all of the information gone over in the class, as well as 20% off of any purchases at our supply shop next door the day of class!
Classes are held in the Cookie Couture Studio space at #60, 1331 44 Ave NE Calgary and are scheduled for 3.5 hours, although the actual time to complete can vary depending on the pace of the group. Please arrive up to 10 minutes early to get settled in.
All classes are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another date. Spots may be transferred to another person for the same date and time - please communicate any changes in registrant information to a Cookie Couture representative prior to the class. Due to space, seats are only available for paid ticket participants.
